Star Tattoos - Why Unique is Better Than Out of The Brochure

Even if you're considering a simple star tattoo, it is much better to commission your own unique design rather than apply a tattoo that someone else is wearing.

It is so easy to pick up a pen and piece of paper and start sketching, it is a wonder why more people do not do it.

A star tattoo is something that you will live with for life. Surely, by making the decision to get a star tattoo, it is also worth taking the time and coming up with a design that is unique to you. Research suggests that there is less regret among tattooed people who have designed their own tattoos, than those that simply got their designs from a brochure.

The reason for this is the emotional input. For example, why would you want a star tattoo design? Is it because you like the look of it? If so, how do you think you'll feel in twenty years time when you look at your star tattoo knowing that it is the result of your own hard work? It's fair to say that you'll most likely prefer it to an off the shelf tattoo, so to speak.

Many people have tattoos to symbolise something important in their life, a tattoo becomes their visual recollection of the event. Again, if the event is so important that you want to permanently record it on your body, surely it is important enough to take the time and develop your own design.

Spend time researching star tattoos and asking opinions of friends. Tattoo galleries can be found on the internet and can be great for inspiration to help you come up with your own star tattoo design. Remembering that this star will be tattooed on your body for the rest of your life do you not think that it is important to spend as much time as possible on the design of the tattoo?

Often star tattoos form part of a tattoo collection. Maybe you will have more than one star tattoo? One on each arm? Or two stars together shooting across your back? There are also many possibilities for combining star tattoos with other tattoo designs.

Some people like to get tattooed with special friends. Maybe you and your special friend could get matching star tattoos to show a special bond or commitment to one another. Star tattoos can represent a time in your life when you are dreaming and reaching for high goals.

Body Art

Body art is a type of artistic design that has something to do with the body. It can be done on the body, with the body or somehow have the human body in it.

While most individuals will think of body art as body tattoos and body piercing, there are many more forms of this type of art form as well. Things like scarification, branding and scalpelling are also considered forms of art. So, is body painting. In fact, there are many more types. With so many types of art to consider, anyone that is looking for a unique way to enjoy art can do so with the use of this form.

Shaping is a type of body art as well. Here, the use of tight fitting clothing such as a corset will keep the body in a specific shape. This is a form of art.

Body painting is simply painting the body with a wide range of colorful products. This can be an all natural product or it can be standard paint. It can be done in many ways too.

There is also a trend in which individuals will do things with their body until they can no longer do them and call this art. One example is that of Marina Abramovic. She would dance until she simply could not any more and would collapse to the ground from sheer exhaustion. Another example is that of Dennis Oppenheim who was well known for his works which would have him simply lying in the sun until his body was so badly burned that only the area of his body covered by a book was not.

Even still, another form of art in this form of the human body is that of performance art, such as dancing and aerobics. This too is a form of art using the body.

Body art is one of the most unique forms of art as it is not necessarily something that is easy to interpret nor is it something that many individuals actually enjoy doing. In some extreme cases, there are forms of art where individuals wound themselves or cause destruction to their bodies in some way. In any case, this type of art is something that is truly enticing only because it is so different and unusual from anything that anyone else has done.

Tattoos Hit Prime Time Reality Television and Become Mainstream

There are two brand new reality Television series that will be coming out this summer that have already started a rumble within the tattoo industry.
You see for a long time there has been an on going struggle and a hotly contested battle between what I call tattoo traditionalists and the newer tattoo artists.

This is really a reflection or similar to the age old power struggle that teenagers often go through as they try to form their own identity and separate themselves from their parents. Well, let me explain a little more.

You see the industry of tattoos and tattooing has had a phenomenal rate of growth in the last two or three years. This growth has led to a lot of new innovations in the world of tattoos and even new styles in tattoo designs.

It has also led to greater number of celebrities getting tattooed, and therefore tons of people wanting to get tattoos like their favorite stars and so on and so forth the ball rolls on. In fact this growth has been so explosive that tattoo related words are now show up on top of every search engines listing as most frequently used search terms. Tattoos key search terms are even being searched for more then many of the top porn and adult related key terms.

So as with any industry there are some serious growing pains within the field of tattoos as the traditional tattoo artists and those newer to the field struggle with issues of marketing vs. art. Many feel that this new growth is wonderful and it is all leading to new business and more respect for the field. However the traditional tattoo artists feel that their true art and life style is now being exploited and commercialized.

This issue has been an ongoing struggle for the last few years but it will really come into play within the tattoo community as two new reality television show come out this summer. Yes, you heard right both The Learning Channel (TLC) and the Arts and Entertainment (A and E) stations on cable television will be releasing new reality television shows about the world, art, and life style of tattoos.

Miami Ink. This show chronicle five tattoo artists that will be setting up a new tattoo shop in Miami. They will be living together, working together and promoting their tattoo shop together.

A and E will also be debuting a new reality T.V. show called Inked. This show features a shop that recently opened up inside

Negative Attitudes Toward Body Piercing Tattoos

In the United States, many prisoners and criminal gangs use distinctive tattoos to indicate facts about their criminal behavior, prison sentences, and organizational affiliation.

This cultural use of body piercing predates the widespread popularity of tattoos in the general population, so older people may still associate body art with criminality.

And some employers, especially in professional fields, believe that tattoos contribute to an unprofessional appearance. In Western culture, some dress code specify that tattoos must be covered.

In fact, recently in a California county, public employees were asked to cover up visible tattoos. Therefore, any form of body piercing sometimes can be harmful to a wearer's career prospects, particularly when inked on places not typically covered by clothing, such as hands or neck.

In some cultures, tattoo body piercings still have negative associations, despite their increasing popularity and are generally associated with criminality in the public's mind; therefore those who choose to be tattooed in such countries usually keep their tattoos covered for fear of reprisal. For example, many businesses such as gyms, hot springs and recreational facilities in Japan still ban people with visible tattoos.
Tattoos also can have additional negative associations for women; "tramp stamp" and other similarly derogatory slang phrases are sometimes used to describe a tattoo on a woman's lower back.

Tattoos, particularly full traditional body suits, are still popularly associated with the yakuzza (mafia) in Japan.

At least according to popular belief, most triad members in Hong Kong have a tattoo of a black dragon on the left biceps and one of a white tiger on the right. In fact, many people in Hong Kong use "left a black dragon, right a white tiger" as a euphemism for a triad member. It's believed that one of the initiation rites in becoming a triad member is silently withstanding the pain of receiving a large tattoo in one sitting, usually performed in the traditional "hand-poked" style.

At the same time, members of the US military have an equally established and longstanding history of tattooing to indicate military units, battles, etc., and this association is also widespread among older Americans. Tattooing is also quite popular in the British Armed Forces.

Tattoos: Which Tattoo Designs Are Most Popular?

Tribal Tattoos - Tribal tattoo designs have been around for hundreds of years and are becoming more and more complex and constantly evolving and morphing into what has become known as neo tribal tattoo styles. Tribal tattoos can be traditional 'black work' on the arms and legs or more colorful styles characterised by the 'Modern Primitive' look covering the entire body.

'Old School' Style Tattoos - Anchors and swallows seem to be making a comeback and not just amongst old sailors and bikers. A lot of females are asking for tattoos of swallows and anchors on their neck and chest while many guys are going for the ol' sailor Jerry tattoos on their forearms. This style is further fueled by the 1950's revival characterised by retro vixens such as the Suicide Girls.

Lower Back Tattoos - These are a perennial favorite particularly amongst females. The most popular lower back tattoos are still tribal designs but dragons, lotus flowers and eastern symbolism seems to be popular as well.

Dragon Tattoos - Dragon tattoo designs are another style of tattoo that seems to be enjoying a revival. There are so many styles of dragons from the traditional Chinese dragon tattoo to more mythical dragons.

Celtic Tattoos - Celtic tattoos are being done on people with a Celtic heritage but also by many people with no Celtic origin. Some of the Celtic symbols are universal in nature and have universal meanings common to all races. This may explain why Celtic tattoos are being mixed with tribal tattoos creating a style of tattoo known as tribal Celtic tattoos.

Tips for Getting Tattoos
Choose your tattoo carefully. Don't go for some off the wall 'flash' tattoo. A good tattoo artist is capable of doing 'custom work'.

Try not mix different tattoo styles such as Japanese and Tribal styles. It doesn't work!

Go to a reputable tattoo artist not some backstreet 'scratcher' who is cheap but you will inevitably regret later. Build a relationship with the tattoo artist if you plan of getting a lot of tattoos.

Take proper care especially of newer tattoos. In summer many people get tattooed and can't wait to flash their tattoos in public. Be careful that you do not expose your new tattoos to too much sun which will fade them. Use plenty of sunscreen to avoid them fading prematurely.

Ink Again About Tattoos

Tattoo parlors have come a long way, but there are still some serious safety considerations that you should think about the next time you've had a few too many margaritas and are looking to get a parrot inked on your shoulder.

The fact of the matter is a lot of bad, bad diseases get transferred by dirty needles - such as HIV and hepatitis

- and tattoos are inked into (not onto) your skin with a needle.

See the need for concern here? However, tattoos are still as popular as ever, margaritas or no margaritas involved. You still see your average 19 year old sorority babe strutting around on the beach with the tattoo splayed across her lower back, or the fraternity dude with the barbed wire wrapped around his bicep.

That's not to mention all of the moms and pops out there with ink, the bikers, the athletes, and everybody else who finds decorating themselves with ink cool or artistic.

Its no wonder, then, that what is popular now has actually been popular for thousands of years and isn't a fad. Now however, modern science makes it tons safer and a tad (but only a tad) less painful.

The key to tattoos is that a needle injects the ink into your skin. The tattooist leads the needle over your skin at a safe, controlled speed. It can take anywhere from a half-hour to several sessions of hours at a time, depending on how big a tattoo you're getting. After its all done and over with in the tattoo parlor, your skin can take between 7 to 10 days to heal and will be sore to the touch initially.

Back in the days when tattoos had a wane in popularity, and only punks, bikers, and other "crazy" people were getting them, tattoos got a bit of bad name. Mainly, the whole issue surrounded around whether or not tattoo parlors were actually clean and safe. There were even outbreaks of disease associated with less than stellar parlors.

And this concern only grows in modern times, with all of the new superbugs that are floating around society.

There are a host of viruses and bacteria that you can be infected with. We're talking hepatitis B, which has been reported as having passed from a tattoo needle. Though it would be possible for hepatitis C and HIV to pass from a needle into your skin as well, no such cases have been reported.

It could be that today's modern tattoo parlors take great pride in their work and the cleanliness of their facility. It could also be that state and local health departments have regulations that they use to govern tattoo parlors and keep them clean, and that they also enforce these regulations.

A worthwhile piece of information for you to know is that you can actually check with the health departments near you to get a rundown on the safe, as well as the unsafe, parlors in your area.

You can also look into an organization called the Alliance for Professional Tattooists, which is a nonprofit organization set up to develop sanitation guidelines for its members.

Of course this all makes sense to you now but if you follow the traditional route for choosing when and where to have a tattoo applied - after a few too many margaritas - you may not be thinking quite so clearly!

Ouch!!

Henna Plant and Henna Tattoo at a Female Stag Party

Henna tattooing has been recently introduced and made famous in the US by Madonna, Demi Moore and a few other celebrities.
The reverence for the henna, however, has been in existence probably ever since the first henna tree, or rather the first henna hedge, set its roots into the soil of the planet earth.

Henna is a shrub in its truest form and it can reach a height of six yards. The henna plant blossoms in very fragrant white or rose red flowers and the species is sometimes classified under the name of Lawsonia alba Lam. or Lawsonia ruba.

This writer first learned of henna a few decades ago, when she was invited to a henna night in Southwestern Turkey. Henna night is sort of a female stag party, usually scheduled to take place the night before the wedding or a couple of days earlier when the women get together and paint each others hands and toes with henna.

The henna night is famous for the camaraderie of women and the constant girlish giggling even among the matronly set. The party is akin to the girls night out, not just with henna painting but with the food, drinks, and a lot of fun.

One good thing about henna tattooing:

unlike the tattoos the western culture is used to, the henna tatto is not permanent, for it fades away in time or it comes out after a few washings. Some women who are well known local artists can create fancy designs with a pastry bag, a toothpick, or a rolled piece of paper dipped into a paste of crushed henna leaves.

First, to make the henna paste, henna leaves are crushed and mixed well. For the tattooing or rather the henna painting, the henna paste has to be at room temperature. Chilling the paste reduces the color. Henna painting craves heat. As a matter of fact, the ladies put their feet on a heating pad even before the henna is on their skin.

When one observes the leaves of the henna plant carefully, it is easy to see the red veins going through the leaves. Most of the red color comes from those veins. After the henna is on the skin, it is topped with a little sugar and lemon juice mixture to set the colors, and also some heat is applied from a heating pad or a heated Mediterranean tile. The longer the wait, the stronger is the color.

There are several different species of the henna plant because it is so widespread in the temperate zones of Middle East, Asia, Australia and North Africa.

Looking for Hawaiian Arm Tattoos?

One of the biggest and hottest growing trends in the art of tattoo design is Hawaiian arm or leg band tattoos. As this trend goes a lot of people think to themselves, "well of course."

At least that is what I said to myself at first. You can hardly drive more then 10 minutes on the freeway in southern California where I am from and not see a big SUV like a Lincoln Navigator or a Cadillac Escalade and not see a Hawaiian sticker. Things with flowers designs, or turtles, dolphins.

Ya see it started off with the sticker and then the car seat covers with hibiscus flowers everywhere and it just grew from there.

This trend of Hawaiian tattoo design has then met it's match with the whole tribal tattoo movement.

Tribal tattoos have been the hottest thing in the tattoo world since sliced bread or the old school WWII era Hula dancer. You see these influences have been all around us for a long time my grandpa even has one of those Hula Girls tattoos still. Granted it is a little saggy and faded now but he still has one on his forearm nonetheless.

So the whole tribal tattoo and the growth in interest for Hawaiian designs have combined to make a hot and growing market for Hawaiian tattoos. This is really an up and coming thing and it not huge yet. However many tattoo artists are spotting the trend and jumping on it already.

Of course there is a lot of controversy on this subject also like anything. If you look on the internet there is a controversy about getting Kanji and Japanese Tattoos also.

Any time you try and take the designs of a culture and do not depict them accurately it creates a sense of bastardization or what I call the "Disney Effect" towards the culture. I mean how would you feel if you were in China and someone said, oh you should try this hot new restaurant out it serves this great food that is really American. They have fried chicken and apple pie that is the best." Well, at first you would be excited right? Sure it would be nice for a good home cooked meal if you have been out of the US for a long time.

However once you get there you see the place has really tacky and awful reproductions of 50's art and the all the food tastes kind of strange. It would probably be kind of close or resemble what you were thinking of but it would be missing something or a few key ingredients.

What You Should Know About Temporary Tattoos

When it comes to temporary tattoos, what should you know? Though I have no actual tattoos, I have certainly toyed with temporary tattoos many times. They are easy to get and can be a lot of fun to play with.

Unlike a real tattoo, you know that you can always get rid of that temporary one so you have a tendency to be a little more adventurous and goofy.

There are, though, a few things you should know about in terms of temporary tattoos. There are more temporary tattoo kits and home studios for them popping up all of the time. Not all of them, though, are for all ages and some are even inappropriate for children or even all adults. Take a look at some of these temporary tattoo sets that are on the market today to get an idea of what you need to know before you go looking for a temporary tattoo.

Perhaps the most popular form of temporary tattoo are the ones most of us remember from our youth. I am speaking, of course, about stick-on tattoos. They are applied by placing them against your skin then soaking the back of the paper with water. The tattoo is then transferred to the skin. Some work better than others, but for the most part these are fun, easy, and safe for kids of all ages.

The next type of temporary tattoo that is available is the Henna kit. In general, Henna should be used for older kids and adults mainly. It stays on the skin for much longer than the stick-on. All henna stains the skin an orangish brown color, so do not let claims of colored henna tattoos fool you. In order for the temporary tattoo to work the best, you need to have fresh henna. So, before you buy a kit, just make sure that it has not been sitting on the shelf for too long. If it has been, then ask when the next shipment is coming in so you can buy it right away and fresh.

Next is a type of temporary tattoo or body art that can be fun for all children and all adults. Body paint, body pencils, and body

Stick Out Your Tongue-Tattoo

As strange as it may seem, tongue tattoos are considered quite “cool.” Although it may be considered painful and could even affect the taste buds, there are still tattoo enthusiasts who opt to get tongue tattoos.

The tongue tattoo looks like the traditional tattoo designs and styles, although they cover the muscle known as the tongue. There are tattoos that cover the entire tongue, or just a single area. In most cases, those who already have them, chose to have their tongue tattooed a certain color. Whether it be purple, orange, black, or blue, the tongue can be tattooed a variety of different colors.

The designs that are poplar with tongue tattoos include stars, tribal work, and other shapes and designs that cover a region of the tongue.

Star tattoos are popular with the lower area of the tongue, near the tip. There are also designs that can be tattooed farther back on the tongue, near the middle of it. As tongue tattoos become more and more popular, more and more designs are implemented.

The process involved in getting a tongue tattoo is very similar to that of a tattoo on any other part of your body. Getting a tattoo involves needles puncturing the skin, depositing ink into the epidermis. The needles move extremely fast, breaking the skin and leaving the pigments of ink. The tongue, just like the skin, will swallow the pigments once the surface has been punctured by the needle. Once the pigments of ink are absorbed by the tongue, the color will remain there forever. And there you have the final product-—a tongue tattoo.

Unlike tattoos on the skin, the tongue is a giant muscle. A tattoo on the tongue is often described as a tickling sensation or the feeling of numbness in your mouth.

When the tattoo artist performs the tongue tattoo, he or she will normally use a tool to hold the tongue out. If you’ve ever had a tongue piercing, you’ll know what it looks like. Once the tongue is out, the artist will begin to work. The process normally does take very long, as long you hold still and don’t move around.

If you’re contemplating getting a tongue tattoo, keep in mind that it could affect your speech initially and may even affect your taste buds. If you decide to go for it, your first step should be to locate a tattoo artist who is experienced in doing tongue tattoos. Not many artists have such know-how since this form of tattooing is still in its infancy.

All About Angel Tattoos

Angel Tattoos

The Angel is a spiritual being created by God. The word angel comes from a Greek word meaning "messenger" or "one who is sent." Angles have been depicted throughout history as Gods messengers and soldiers. They delivered His word and carried out His punishments upon mankind.

History

Angels also serve as the guardians of individuals and nations. The worlds three biggest religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) mention Angels throughout their holy texts. The Angels are viewed as the link between Heaven and Earth and believed to be a gift from God for our safety, protection and guidance.

In many ways, the Angels are depicted as winged creatures hovering over the earth to provide protection against evil elements against mankind.

Guardian Angels

Guardian angels are believed to be the protectors of humanity in times of crisis. These guardian angels are often shown holding or watching over the children.

In fact, David Beckham, the England captain and star footballer (soccer player) said in his recent autobiography, about the significance of his Angel tattoo on his upper back, "I like the feeling that my sons are with me even when Im away from home. And not just in my heart. I had their names tattooed on my back after each one was born. There's a guardian angel there, too, looking after them both."

Archangels

The Archangels are the seven Angels that stood before God in the Revelations. These Angels are the closest to God in the heavenly order. The Archangels are the divine messengers between the humans and God. They are the battlers of the Sons of Darkness. The most famous of the seven Archangels is Michael. Michael is believed to have led the battle against Lucifer (another Archangel) in the great rebellion. Michael is usually depicted in body armor, holding a large sword, with wings out swept in readiness.

Cherubs

Cherubs are the bringer of love. A good example is Cupid uses his bow and arrow to shoot through the hearts of unwarned people which makes them fall in love with one another. This is why an arrow through the heart usually accompanies these angel tattoos. Frequently, the name of a loved one is also added to the Cupid tattoo.

Fallen Angels

Fallen angels are symbolic of the epic battle between God and Lucifer, symbolizing a fall from Grace. Believers in the Judeo-Christian theology say that when Lucifer and his army of the dark angels were defeated and thrown out of Heaven, these angels were said to have fallen into the burning depth of the earth.

The typical fallen Angel tattoo usually pictured as a menacing looking angel, with a bloody sword in his hand. Other fallen angels are depicted with torn or injured wings, or even with horns. These angel tattoos frequently use a darker, heavier ink to make the design seem more foreboding. Fallen angels are popular with Goths and bikers in particular, as well as those who are devotees of Satan and the dark arts.

Popularity

Angel tattoos are among the most popular tattoo designs for men and women alike. Angel tattoos are attractive because they represent peace, beauty, good sense, exemplary morals, and spirituality.

An angel tattoo on a woman signifies that she looks inward towards her soul to find her purest sense of self. She is divine and often patient, and her presence is a gift. She protects herself but also others, and finds that sometimes beauty lies in confidence. And the wearer of the angel tattoo has the belief she does not settle for something less and goes where she is needed.

Getting Sleeved: Full Sleeve Tattoos How To

Have you wondered what a full sleeve or half sleeve tattoo is? Maybe you have heard about them or even want one but you are not sure exactly what they are, how to go about getting one, nor ow much they are going to cost. Well, get ready to learn all of the above and a lot more. Full sleeve, half sleeve and even quarter sleeve tattoos are very hot and in right now. They have become a very popular spot for tattoos in both men and women. There are many women today that sport full sleeve tattoos and love them greatly!

Well, you are probably wondering by now what is a sleeve tattoo anyway? It is basically any tattoo design that is done on a persons arm and it typically covers up completely the area. There are different types of sleeve tattoos for example a full sleeve tattoo, half sleeve tattoo and even a quarter sleeve tattoo. The difference between them is the overall length. Typically a full sleeve will cover the entire arm from the should down to the wrist. From there a half sleeve is from the elbow or upper lower arm and goes up to the shoulder. Then there is a quarter sleeve tattoo which primarily is done around the shoulder.

The Two Paths Of A Sleeve Tattoo There are really many different ways to go about getting a sleeve tattoo. However, most of the ways fall into two common categories or steps for getting the work done. The first way is through individual tattoos and the second way is through one complete project. Which one you choose to have done will really be up to you and what you like. Also you will have to take into consideration any existing tattoos you already have in the area.

Connecting Tattoos: One way to end up with a sleeve tattoo is to take already existing tattoos that are on the arm and somehow find a unifying theme to connect them together. For example one might have a horseshoe tattoo for good luck on their bicep and want to connect this and extend the design down their arm. So they might decide on some flames and a pair of lucky dice to go with the horseshoe.

The Complete Project Method: The complete project method is pretty much what the title says. This is done when a person decides before getting any other tattoos that they want a full arm or a full sleeve tattoo design. They want to get the whole thing done in one shot. They will typically then decide on the design that they want done and work with a tattoo artist to get a custom tattoo design drawn for them. The tattoo will take several sessions at the tattoo shop to get the whole thing done but the design was done as one piece. This lends itself to large designs and typically bigger art work as opposed to a lot of small tattoos connected together like int he other way.

Tattoo Inspiration, Designs and Ideas: Choosing the perfect design for your sleeve tattoo can be a long and sometimes painful or frustrating process. It can be had to find a pre-made flash design that is exactly what you are looking for. It is therefore often better for people that want to get a sleeve tattoo to work with a competent tattoo artist and get a custom design done. Take your time with this process and don't try to rush it or be in a hurry to get the work finished. Once it is done you will have the design for the rest of your life and you want it to be something you are proud of and satisfied with. Therefore take your time and look at existing ideas, designs and photos. From every source you look at try and find the things you like and the things you don't like. This should help clarify the elements you want in the design. Then you can work with a professional and competent tattoo artist to come up with a custom full sleeve tattoo design.

What Is Hot: One place to get started with finding a design is to think about what you have seen and what is popular in sleeve tattoo designs already. Below are some guidelines of more popular themes for sleeve tattoos. However, these are just meant to spark an interest and should not just be used because they are popular. You want your body art to express something about you so just use the ideas as inspiration.

Sleeve Tattoo Ideas: Flames - One popular design theme that you can find on a good number of full sleeve tattoos are flames. These typically start down at the wrist and the flames burn upwards towards the shoulder. This look great and can easily be incorporated with other designs or tattoos.

Sleeve Tattoo Designs: Tribal - Tribal sleeve designs are another great tattoo design that can commonly be done as a sleeve. Tribal tattoos are typically made up of large bold lines done in black and they look great from a distances and really stand out. Therefore they make great sleeve tattoos designs. Don't feel you have to go with the standard tribal designs either as there are many different native cultures that used tattooing. You can go with something really unique like a Maori tribal design.

Tattoo Sleeve Ideas: Celtic - Another way to go and one that is very popular is to integrated a Celtic tattoo design into the sleeve. Just think about Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. He has a pair of wonderful Celtic forearm tattoos that could easily be extended into a full sleeve. There are step patterns, spirals, human and animal along with the classic knot work designs. These again make use of bold black lines of ink which can be intricate and bold at the same time.

Floral Patterns - Floral patterns also make great sleeve tattoo designs. The vines, buds, and flowers can easily be intertwined up and throughout the arm. These are great for women and also very popular among men.

The Time and Cost Factor: You should consider carefully the costs and time commitment involved in getting a full or even half sleeve tattoo. They can be rather costly and time consuming and so you want to plan ahead and ensure that you can complete the project before you get started designing it. Typically it can take 25 hours of time to complete just the tattoo part of the work and this number can go up drastically depending on the design and the shop. As far as cost it can be hard to project again it depends on the shop. the experience of the tattoo artist and the amount of work they currently have. Of course when they are super busy they are good but you will have to pay more. Very rough guidelines in terms of price would be anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000 dollars.

Once you know the amount of time, cost and commitment it will take on your part and you still really want to get a full sleeve tattoo then go for it. Spend some time planning the design carefully before getting started and make sure you choose a tattoo artist that you can communicate with and someone you feel listens to you.
